Since I haven't been in my craft room much
I would like to share a little bit of what I have been up to this week.
So on with the randomness..
Most of this week has been spent out in the yard.
It takes me forever to get my yard work done because I am
always grabbing my camera for a photo.
Just like the dead leaves here. They looks so cool I had to
grab a shot of them before they went into the trash.
*
My Dad had a Birthday, He is 87 years Young.
And still as ornery as ever.. Love ya dad..
*
The hubby and I went to see the movie The Great and Powerful OZ.
I would give it 4 stars. That's because the little monkey is so darn cute.
My Husband would give 3 stars at best. He's such a critic.
*
I bought a hula hoop. Thanks to Catherine from "Corner of Cat's mind".
Now I am thinking I should NOT have bought the weighted one.
That hoop is hard as heck to keep up.
I have the bruises on my hips to prove it.
*
I just started reading the book
"Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and sweet"
The Yard work is all done, for now.
So the leaves in these shots are all gone now.
I see some crafting time in my future.

Thanks Nancy for hosting this fun Meme
HAPPY FRIDAY
I do hope everyone has a Fabulous weekend.
Hugs~

ReplyDeleteGreat pics!! We saw Oz too and I loved it!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your doings this week. All the best for the hula hoop tries :)
ReplyDeleteLovely post ... I always feel like I'm right there chatting with you ...We have snow again today so I'm staying indoors ... have a lovely weekend
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to you Dad and I am glad he is still ornery! Good for him! Lovely pictures and I would be out in the yard, but with the wind my allergies and that just don't mix!!!! Hugs!
ReplyDeletelove the leaves! yay for the hula hoop! that catherine is AWESOME with hers! you will be, too, i don't doubt!
ReplyDeleteI adored Hotel on the Corner...such a great read. The leaf is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteHappy 5 day!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the book tip -
I really like your leave photos.
love & love,
-g-
Beautiful pics of those old leaves! I was wondering about OZ myself since I am a big fan of the books and the original movie. I wonder if it is too late to see it at our local..
ReplyDeleteThe photos of the leaves are stunning. Spring is showing up around here with some daffodils, but it's cold today, and there's the chance of snow on Sunday. Where is spring? :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the book tip. I'm always looking for something good to read.
Pretty shots Linda. I almost bought one of those hula hoops too just last week, but didn't think it would fit in Russell's car. Wow...you have hips? Lol I used to! I'm sure I'll be fine...I don't think my fat will bruise. :-) Glad you started the book, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Weird weather here...big hail yesterday and snow flakes this morning...not cold enough to stick though. Mother Nature is screwed up...I asked for snowflakes on December 22, not March 22!
ReplyDeleteLove the macro of the tattered leaf. I saw "OZ"...I think it was a 3 1/2 stars, fun but not great. And "hotel" is on my tbr stack. so much to do, so little time!!
ReplyDeleteI have tons of pine needles that need to get raked up -- soon, soon -- but I want a warm day to do it!
ReplyDeleteYou've been busy! The photos are beautiful. Something about dying leaves makes an impact for some reason. Have a fun weekend doing what you love!
ReplyDeleteVery nice Random 5. Love the photos of the dead leaves too. Have a great week!
ReplyDeletei love your header shot.
ReplyDeletehappy birthday to your day. that is awesome!!
i want to see OZ. can't wait. i enjoy several of those actors. ( :
have a good weekend.
Sounds like a lovely and peaceful week. Love the vision of you with your new hula hoop! You are so cute, my friend!
ReplyDeleteLove the photos of your leaves, can almost hear them crackle and crunch. A hula hoop with weights, I've never heard of that before....ooooh it sounds hard to do. Love a good book, especially in winter, one you can get totally lost in. Thanks for sharing your week Linda. Have a great weekend. xx
ReplyDeleteI love your photos of the leaves. They are beautiful! And yes, 'Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet' is a wonderful book. I've been thinking of reading it again, and i think this is definitely a sign! :)
ReplyDeleteLinda,
ReplyDeleteI like your leaf pictures. I see I have more branches to pick up in the yard. Darn Wind!
Hope you got to spend some time with your Dad on his Birthday. Ornery at 87 is a good thing!
Good Luck with the hula hoop. Sounds interesting.
I am a little over half way through "The Cider House Rules." It's very good.
Enjoy your crafting!

Hi, Linda!
ReplyDeleteStopping by through Random 5 Friday, you have me intrigued with your hula hooping & photography.. new follower!
:)
Love the leaf shots and this was a nice randoms post...this party is fun
ReplyDeleteDon't worry about the bruises my friend! Your hips will toughen up! LOL! I had bruises at first too. I think it was from doing it too long starting out. But trust me, it won't be long and you will be bruise free. I can hoop for 45 minutes now with no bruises. I love it!
ReplyDeleteAnd I hope you are enjoying some nice weather. Think of my snow when you are doing that yard work! ;)
xo Catherine
I thoroughly enjoyed The Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet. Love the snap of the leaves!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun post! I think I'll look for the book. I'm always on the look out for a great read. Happy Birthday to your dad!

ReplyDeleteWonderful work with the images Linda!
ReplyDeleteOh I love the Oz, I never blink my eyes from beginning till the end! : 0
You're so lucky to have your dad, young :) and healthy!!. Happy Belated Birthday to him!!. I never knew my dad, but I made peace by sending much love to him and that help me moved on :). I LOVE your frosty dried leaves, they remind me of the vines from the snow grapes in Europe. Gorgeous :). HUGS.
ReplyDeleteThose leaves look great...even if they were headed for the trash bin.
ReplyDeleteI loved the movie...I love whimsical sets!
More beautiful photo's, Linda, I have been playing with the grandchildren all week. Colin, 8yrs, and I mowed the back yard, his first time to mow. He is a natural and had so much fun. We raked leaves as well, but my yard work is far from finished! Still lots of oak leaves falling. Hope you had a good weekend.
ReplyDeleteThose were great random facts, sounds like an interesting book, the title is intriguing. I like to hoola-hoop, now that the weather is improving I need to dig it out and use it again.
ReplyDeletebye bye drop-dead-gorgeous leaves! Belated congrats to your ornery dad Linda!! And good luck hula hooping my friend, I was sooooo good at it when aged 8 (they actually nicknamed me "Hoepeltje" - little hula hoop - because of that) and soooo failed at it when aged 40 :)
ReplyDeletehugs xoxo
Great texture on those leaves. :)
ReplyDeleteMy 14 YO saw The Great and Powerful Oz too. She liked it. I'd like to see it...the scenery looks lush and amazing!
