Be True to You....

I have been having a lot of fun playing around with some mixed
media Art..  I had taken a couple of classes from
Chiristy Tomlinson and have started a Mixed Media journal.
Lots of fun!!

My journal is going to be about all the thing I love in life.

Here is the cover of my Journal.
I was torn on what color I was going to use.  I was thinking of designing it
with the color green.  But at the last minute decided on pink.
I am pretty happy with my decision.

As of right know I only have a couple of pages done!

These first pages have everything to do with Me and the love of
my life "My Husband".

I am still playing around with these pages,  But I thought I would share them
with you anyway.

So I have to say I have been having so much fun with these pages
Lots of paint, watercolors, stencils, doodling, decoupaging, stamping.
Doesn't that sound fun!!

I am linking this up with The Color of Summer..
The color this week is PINK!!
To check it out you can hop over HERE.

You should check out Christy's classes..
They are well worth the money.

Here's a little video if you want to check out her work!

Well that's all I have for today..

I do hope you are all having a fabulous week.

Lots of Sunny days ahead..

It is definitely summer here in Las Vegas..
It has been so darn hot here that Myles and me veg in the house
all day and when my husband gets home from work, we spend most of the
evening in our pool.  That is why we go camping so much to escape this heat..

So I am back this morning to show you my card for this weeks
challenge over at City Crafters Challenge Blog
Ros has come up with a fun sketch for us to do.. I was so
excited when I saw this sketch this week.. I just love to used sketches..
Thanks Ros..

I know you have probably seen me use this digi stamp before..  I just love it
It is from Shirleys 2 girls..  I don't think they are around anymore..

I used watercolor pencils to color this cute little kitty..
And my blending pen..

This really wasn't my first card for this sketch.. My first card I made was a birthday
card for my SIL..  Like a dork I gave it to her with out taking a photo..
So you get to see my second attempt at this challenge..   I guess my mind
is on other things lately..

If you would like detail on this challenge you can hop on over to
CCCB..  While your'e there check out the lovely work all the other gals have done..

Well it's time for me to go pick up Myles..
I am pretty lucky, my daughter only lives four housed down from me.
So it's pretty easy for both of us..

Till next time my friends..

Live the Dream

Hello my sweet friends..
I have been so busy I start a tag on Monday
can you believe I am just now getting it done.
It is so funny how I was so happy to be off work..
More time to play in my craft room.  But that hasn't happened
yet..   Oh Well I do have sweet little thing keeping me occupied..

Man do I just love this little guy!!

So about my Tag..  I am playing along in a new challenge for me..
It Grunge Monday...  hosted over at Studio L3..  I know some of you have
been playing along with Linda (Host of Studio L3) all along..
I have been watching and just love seeing all the wonderful Art that goes
on over there..  It's all about TIM.. Yep the one and only Master of Grunge..

To play along you just follow the technique she has post.
It's one of Tim's Videos from April 2008..

If you want to check it out you can go HERE!

I had a blast making this tag..
The technique was to use clear embossing power and then use
Dark paint over it an rub it off so it stains the paper that was not embossed..
I must admit I used distress ink instead of paint..

Lots and Lots of distress ink..

A punch flower with some of Tim's metal leafs..

So that is my tag.. Lots of fun.
You should play along..  You have till Monday!

To see all the other entries or to get all the details
on the challenge you can head on over to Linda's Blog and

Thanks so much for stopping by..
I do hope you enjoyed your visit..

Hello my friends...

Well I am back from my trip and I did a lot of relaxing.. It was so
nice..  The weather was a bit chilly..  But that was OK with us..

I have to say it was so strange not being on the computer..
I did take some long naps..  Strolls on the beach.  A little bit of crafting.
And got half way through the book I am reading..  I love to read but I have the
worst habit of reading 2 or 3 pages and falling to sleep.  Even if the book is great!
So it seem like it takes me forever to get through a book!!

Anyway I am back today with my card for City Crafters..
The Talented Cheryl is our Host and it is also her Birthday..
How exciting is that..
Cheryl is challenging us to use the #1 or the word "ONE"
in our project.  Not to difficult..  I had a lot of fun with this one..

So here is what I came up with for the challenge
You are number one!

Like I said I had a lot of fun creating this card..
Lots of layering to create this shabby little beauty..

I made this little tag using one of my favorites "graphic 45".

Once again all my favorite elements.. Sewing, Lace, old buttons, seam binding..

I used a little square of muslin and put it under my Admit One ticket..
and added some pretty little pink punched flowers..

So if you would like to play along with us this week and you need all the detail
on this challenge you can hop on over to CCCB.  While your there you should
check out what all the other DT have come up with..

Thanks so much for stopping by..
Till next time my friends.

shot out to a wonderful gal!!

Happy Birthday Cheryl..

Cheryl is on the design team with us over at CCCB!
I am sure most of you already knew that..
And she is one talented gal..

I am so happy I have gotten to know you and
I do hope you have the sweetest Birthday ever..

Hello from sunny California....

Yep, I am in California again, camping at the beach.
I will never get tired of camping out here,
Listening to the soothing sounds of the ocean as you fall asleep at night.
The long morning walks with our coffee on the ocean as we
look for sea shells.
I have to say life is pretty good here on the beach!

When we go camping I always take my trusty laptop..
You know it would be so hard and I might go through withdraws if I couldn't
chat with all my blog friends.  And let say I don't have internet I can always
play with my photos in photoshop..

But I am going to give it a try my friend.. I left the Laptop at home..
I might have to have an extra margarita to get me through.  Hee Hee..
I am hoping to finally get to some reading I have been meaning to do..

Maybe get some crocheting done..
Myles will be 16 before I finish this..

Maybe work my brain.. Just a little..
I love doing these puzzles..

So basically all I am saying I won't be around this week to look at all
your lovely and inspiring work..  Boy am I going to miss it..

I am also going to miss little Myles..  I tried to talk my daughter into
letting him go with us and she said maybe next time :(
You know we have to make a camper out of the little tike..

So Happy Crafting Ladies while I am gone..

I will catch up with you all soon!!!

Hugs, Linda

A Little Something...

I have a little something to show you!!
An ATC (Artist Trading Card).

I always have so much fun when I make these little pieces
of Art..

That is what the challenge is this week over at
City Crafter Challenge.
And yours truly is the host this week.

Can you see why I enjoyed putting this together.

The image I am using I got in a little book that I got at
Hobby Lobby..  They have a lot of cool images in it.

I framed it with some gold blue CS.  My back ground paper is from
K&CO..

The bottom is a frame I cut out on my Big Shot.
Then I used gold embossing powder to make it gold.
And then I added some lace and stitching.
And some little jewels..

So there you have it a Little piece of ART..

To get all the details on this challenge or to see what the other
ladies have come up with you can hop on over to
City Crafter Challenge Blog.

There is also a ATC swap going on..  You can get all the
details for the swap at CCCB!  You should join in and trade your
ATC with other talented ladies..

Thanks so much for stopping by..

A Blooming Great Day!!

So how is your day going so far!!

Are you having a great day?

I have thoroughly been enjoy my break so far.
It might have to do with a little guy that has been spending the
mornings with me.  I am so sorry you guys always have to hear
about how wonderful being a Grandma is..  But it is the best!
I know a lot of you know exactly what I am talking about.

Even though this is all he does most of the time I have him!!
SOOOO CUTE!!!!

I had a little time to play in my craft room this morning and really
didn't want to spend time looking to see if there were any challenges
to play in..  I am sure there is!  A whole lot of them!!

So for me today there are no challenges that I am playing in.
Just hanging out and playing!

For some reason these photos are looking so blurry once I transfer them
to blogger..  They look fine when I am in Picasa.
Weird.

So this was just a fun quick little card for me.. I had fun coloring this
stamp in.  I pick it up while I was on Vacation in Carlsbad!

No stitching.. No bows.. Just paper and a stamp..
I printed the sentiment up on the computer.

So that's all I have for you today..
I better get off this computer
Myles will be here anytime..

Hope you are all having a Bloom'n great day!!

Hugs, Linda

Button, Button...

Who has the Button.
Do your remember that game..  I have to admit I know the saying but I really don't
remember the game.   And I have lots and lots of buttons if you need any!
I am back today with the City Crafter Challenge for this week!
Kirsty is our host this week and has come up with an amazing challenge.

No it's not Buttons..  I know that's what you are thinking..

She wants us to
 "DRESS UP A JAR"
Sounds pretty fun, Right!

Once again I had so many idea swimming around in my head.
And this is what I ended up with I pretty little Jar for my Buttons..

When I was thinking about how to dress up my jar the first thing that
came to mind is a crochet dollie.

And then lots and lots of pretty little flowers..

Then of course Lots of pretty Buttons to fill my Jar!

I must admit it came together way easier than I thought it would..
And I had a blast making this.  Now I want to try another!!!

Thanks Kirsty..

If you would like to play along with us this week it should be pretty fun!
I can't wait to see what everyone comes up.
To get all the details on this challenge or to see what the other DT have
come up with you can hop on over to

My Garden Angel..

Hello sweet friends.
I have a little tag to share with you today.
It has been awhile since I have made a Tag..
I know it's a sad story.  You know how I love my Tags.

Over at Rebecca's blog the challenge is to make a tag with
soft pinks and soft greens. Sounds Yummy doesn't it..

So here she is my garden angel tag.
I just love this image..  I pick up a little book a hobby lobby with
some images and she was one of my favorite in the book.
Can you see why?

I used a glitter gel pen to make give her that sparkle.
I had fun making the Pink background even though you really can't see it.
I used water color pencil and then I stamped it with my script stamp..

Of course a garden angel has to have a flower put on the tag..

The Lace at the bottom I picked up at an antique shop
while I was in California..  I just love to go antiquing there..

So if you want to see all the other Tags you can hop on over to
Rebecca's Blog  HERE

Thanks Rebecca for the fun Challenge.

I am also link this up to a new Challenge Blog called
The Craft Room
The challenge this week is Anything goes..

Thats all I have for today!!
Thanks so much for stopping by..
