Vintage Garden

It is Tuesday which means it is time for another fun challenge

The sweet and talented Ros is our host and is challenging us to
a inspirational photo challenge.  You can hop on over to CCCB
to see the beautiful photo!

So here is what I came up with for this weeks challenge.

I made this little ATC..

The paper I used is from K&Co.. and I punched the cute little
butterfly from old book pages.

A little stitching and some little lace flowers with pearls added to the middle.
make for an easy ATC..

So I was having so much fun playing with these colors the other
night I just kept on playing..

So here is a tag as you can see that I made using the same
Inspirational photo..

Thanks so much for the fun challenge Ros.  It was a lot of fun..
To play along with us this week you can hop on over to CCCB.
To get all the details.. Or just take a peak at what all the DT created.

I just wanted to say thanks so much to Jean over at Bluebird Paperie.
I just received box full of so many wonderful goodies.
I can't wait to play with it all. I was the lucky winner of her blog candy!

This is not all that she sent.. So now you can see why I am so happy..

Thanks so much for stopping by my sweet friends,
till next time!!

Hello my sweets...

I am back today not with a crafty project to show you.
Not to say I haven't been in my craft room creating.
Cause I have..  Just not much to show.  I have been
playing with my Art journal. Repainting a bird house. Playing with
some canvases..  Just fun stuff like that..

All of a sudden I realized it was  already Thursday..
Where in the heck did this week go.   I wanted to play with
the Summer of color.. This weeks color was Red.
And I have not a thing to show you..

So I thought about it...  And thought some more....

And this is what I came up with..

Yep, Some of my photo's with the color red in them

That was a little bit more difficult that I thought it would be.

Because I didn't have as many as I thought I would have.

Maybe just maybe red is not my color.

For some reason I thought I would have all kinds of red photo
from my archive to chose from..  but this is it.

So I will leave you now with my Red photos and something to
ponder about the color Red..

Red can symbolize many things; from blood, to love, to infatuation.
Basically red symbolizes strong emotions, or things of strong emotions
rather than intellectual ideas.  For example, red can symbolize excitement,
energy, speed, strength, danger, passion, and aggression.

Ironically, red cats symbolize bad luck.

I don't know if I have ever seen a red cat..
Have you!!

To see all the other entries you can head on over to Kristin's

Thanks so much for stopping by..
I will be back soon with something crafty my friend.

It's a shore thing..

Good morning all..
I am running a little late this morning. So it's a quick little post
For this weeks City Crafter Challenge..

The so sweet Cheryl is our host this week and has come
up with a fabulous challenge..  One of my favorite place..

It's a shore thing..  All you need to do is create a beach related theme
on your project..

I have had my eye on this digi from Isabella's sketchbook..
I think it is the cutest..

I had the most difficult time coloring her..
I colored her at least 3 times.  And am not crazy about this one..
But you know me, I am my own worst critic.

I am going to try again.  I think I just needed some different colors for
the background..

To get all the details on this challenge
you can hop on over to CCCB and get all the details..

Any whoooo I gotta run and pick Myles up..

Thanks sooooo much for all your kind comments..
They really make my day!!

I gave it my best shot...

Did you ever start a project with something in mind and by the
time your done it looks nothing like you visioned in your mind..
Well that is what happened to me..

Don't get me wrong.. I had a blast playing around and trying new technique
I just don't really know if I like the out come..

So for my Tag today I played along with a couple of challenges.

The color this week over at Summer of color is Brown..
I know what you are thinking.. It looks a little yellow..
But believe me It's Brown my friends..
The background started off a cream then I inked it up with some
Tea dye distressed ink,  And then after I embossed it I used Walnut stain
distressed ink..  I love playing with distressed inks..

And of course I had a blast using Mr. Tim Holtz techniqes on this
Tag.  To see his Majesty in action you can head on over to his blog HERE and
see all the detail on how to make the tag for this week..

Lets just say I used a lot of clear embossing powder this week with lots of distress ink.
I love the effect you get.. I don't know if you can see it here..

I made an attempt at making a flower from pages out of an old book..

One thing I did learn is that I definitely need some more Tim Holtz products..
Than again who doesn't.

To get the detail on this challenge you can head on over to
Linda's blog at Studio L3
Thanks so much Linda for hosting these fun challenges..

And to get all the details on summer of colors you can hop over
to Kristen's Blog Twinkle, Twinkle..
Thanks also to you Kristen.  I have had a blast playing your challenges..
I am looking forward to Red next week..

Well That's all I have for now my friends..
Thanks so much for stopping by.

Let the sunshine in...

So can you really believe how fast summer is going by.
It seems the older I get the fast time goes by.
So I soak it all in and try to enjoy everyday I can.

Well it's Tuesday which means time for
another  challenge over at
And I am the Host this week, So when I was trying to
come up with a theme for this week the only think that kept popping
in my head was the hot summer sun that
we have here in the desert..  So I went with it.
All you need to do for this week challenge is to have a
"sun" or the word "sun" on your project.
Pretty easy right!!

I just love this stamp. It is one of my favorites.
And I must admit I use it a lot.

I made a simple card for this week because it just seem fitting.
I used black embossing powder for my sun so it looks shiny in the
right light.

I did some doddle stitching around the edges.
Again I don't know why I didn't use my sewing machine.
Just didn't seem to fit the project. I really don't know why!

So there you have it another card for CCCB.
To get all the details or to see the other DT cards you
can hop on over to CCCB!

Thanks so much for stopping by and a real big
THANK YOU
for all your kind comments.
They mean the world to me!!

I just love these little guys....

Happy Friday to you my friends..
I had a little time to play around in my craft room  yesterday so I pulled out
my old House Mouse friends..  I have to say I just love these guys.
I haven't used them in quite awhile.
I really don't have a big selection.  But just enough to make me smile.

So the challenge over a HOUSE MOUSE is
Make a Splash.
And that is exactly what this little fella is doing..

I used my watercolor pencils to color this along
with my blending pen!

But I did use my Copic markers on the flower..

So I do hope you like my little card. I know I had a lot of fun
coloring him..  To see all the details on this challenge you can hop on over
to House-Mouse & friends.  There are some super cute cards over there..

Let your dreams Soar...

Hello my friends!!
I am back from vacation and all relaxed and recharged..
We had a wonderful time and We got to take my grandson along.
OK..  Not just my GS,  my daughter and SIL came along also..
Yea!!

Here he is all bundled up probably wondering what happened to
the heat..  One day it's hot and the next day it's cold..

I have another Tag to show you this morning that I made for
This week challenge over at City Crafters..

Kirsty is our Hostess this week and came up with a wonderful
theme..  Birds of a feather.

All you have to do is have a bird cage on your project or decorate a bird
cage.. Fun... Fun... Fun...
So on my tag I used a couple of different papers and some
of my favorite stamps and inks and paints and stencils
to get my back ground..

Cu

Printed up some words.  Stamped my bird cage, Used some rub-ons,
Cut out my bird and decoupage all of it when I was done..

I just love this sepia decoupage.  It gives my tags a yummy finish!
I am almost out of this finish and can't seam to find it anymore.
I Love it so much I am going to see if I can find it on line
somewhere..

So there you have it..  Another fun week over at CCCB!
You should play along with us.. It's a fun challenge.
To get all the details or to see what the other DT has come
up with you can hop on over HERE!

Finding time...

I have had no time to play in my craft room lately so
I thought I would share some photos of our last
camping trip to the coast of California.

A lot of people would not enjoy this type of camping
but I have to say it is one of our favorite spots to go lately.

I really think I like because your so close to the ocean..

And the Beach here is just beautiful..
Even though I really don't know how they are swimming that
water was freezing..

So you just don't see these types of signs in Las Vegas.

My hubby's foot print in the sand.. I wasn't wearing shoes so mine
didn't show up..

My husband was not to happy when I pulled out all my craft supplies,
But it was pretty fun to dabble with my mixed media supplies while looking
out the window at the ocean..  Could life get any better..

Well we as you are reading this we are gone again..
This time we headed for Duck Creek, UT.

Another one of our favorite spots..
So green and cool and beautiful.

These photos were taken on last years trip.
But this year should be a little better..  Any ideas why?
I am sure you know!!

Well thanks for taking a look at my photos.. Sorry there were so many!
I will have something crafty to show you real soon!!

Hugs, Linda
