Hiking White Horse Trail

So sorry to say I ran out of time and didn't get all
my shots in for Scavenger Hunt Sunday.
The only shot I got was the sweet shot.. Hmmm..

So today I am going to share some photos
of a Hike the hubby and I did.
Are we adventurers or what!

It all started off great.  I'm pretty sure we were on the right track!

We were enjoying the great out doors and the
scenery looked beautiful.  Well should I say as Beautiful
as a desert can look!

This trail is only about 20 minutes from our house
I had no idea it was even here..
The canyon walls were amazing.

After hiking for about one and a half hours the
canyon opened up and you could see the beautiful
Colorado river.  The bright green tint to the water looked amazing.

That was not where this hike ended..  We scrambled up some rocks
for quite awhile and ended up at this Ladder.

I can't believe hubby made me go up first.

Up top were these pool of water..
Hot springs.  The water was over 100.
No... We did not get in!

Well it was about time to start heading back.
Lets just say my thighs are still screaming.
It was up hill the whole way back.

We came across this tree with this ball hanging from it
I have no idea what it is but it sure made a pretty photo.

So it was about a 6 mile hike.  But it felt like 30.
But I am so glad we did it!

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Til next time...

Hugs, Linda

Hi Linda,
first I would like to say you look so young AND you are a grandma...a hiking grandma. I am a young grandma too...and a hiking grandma as well. I was 40 when my grandson was born. He's three now.

I love this post...and it's in your back yard practically. Wow. How did you get the shadow photo of you both on the rock? Neat picture!

It's funny, I was thinking yesterday on my walk that I should start posting photos of our hikes because we've been on so many all over the place. You just may have inspired me to do that.

Have a great Sunday Linda and good week!

these are absolutely amazing, what a wonderful place to live, makes me so envious although I watched that film on the plane where the man got stuck and had to cut his arm off with a penknife! keep safe and remember to tell people where you are going!

These are amazing. The two that stand out to ME are the shadows (fabulous!) and the one standing in the middle of the two canyon walls. It truly puts things in perspective to see how small and insignificant we truly are in the grand scheme of things. Lovely.

These are AMAZING photos, Linda! Imagine having this so close to your home. Six miles is a pretty decent hike for one day, so well done. It's been awhile since I've done that much. :)

Have a great week!

Gorgeous photos...my favorite is the last one (unbelievable light...so pretty), but I also really like the scale that's shown in the third one and the shadow shot is really cool. Looks like a great place for a hike!

Great exercise, great photos! Linda, you truly inspire me with your photography. I'd like someday to buy a more expensive camera and get better pix, but for now my Nikon Coolpix point and shoot will have to do.
