Well I am back today to show you what I have created
for the "Life Book" class that I am taking.
I am still not real confident in what I am doing in this class.
for the "Life Book" class that I am taking.
I am still not real confident in what I am doing in this class.
This is one crazy mixed media piece that I have created..
You will never guess how it started off.
That unless you took the class!
This class on this particular week was taught by
Kylie Pepyat-Fowler. It is a self portrait.. I had so much fun
taking this class. We started off with a photo of our selfs..
Yes hard to believe that this started out as a photo of me! Hee Hee..
We did a image transfer and then we painted over it.
I ended up doing the transfer twice cause the first one was to light.
But the second on was just as bad. So I just used the second one!
That is probably why this looks nothing like me.
I could barley see the photo to paint over.
This took lots and lots of layers of paints..
Still don't know what in the heck I am doing with the shading..
I kinda wanted to do something different with the hair..
Once again. Not real comfortable doing hair.
But when I came up with this funky hair style I kinda liked it..
Maybe I should try it in real life..
So what do you think of my self portrait.
If only I had full lips like that in real life. Hee Hee...
But I have to admit she kinda looks like a bobble head!
I found this Video to help me not give up.
There is still hope for me.. Maybe..
I know I have shared this with a couple of you!!
I am linking up to Paint Party Friday..
Thanks so much to Eva and Kristin for hosting
such an awesome party!
Thanks so much for stopping by my friends..
I do hope you enjoy your weekend.
Hugs, Linda

I think it is awesome! I like the idea of creating an image of yourself ... I would be very challenged to do so!
Yup, I want those lips too!
I love this Linda.
It's bright, cheerful, and it makes me happy when I look at it.
Love your work!
Sending you wishes for a beautiful weekend my Friend!
xo.
woot woot to you Linda for stepping out of the zone and doing this lovely piece of art! I am digging her hair! I wish I had petals that looked so lovely. Instead I have a heap of frizziness too often. :-( You are really inspiring me to try the transfer process!

dazzling mixed media piece ~ namaste, carol (A Creative Harbor) Happy PPF ^_^
Gosh, Linda! She is FABULOUS! You are FABULOUS! I think I could stare at this all day. Love your wings, and love your crazy hair, and the eyes just draw me in! Gorgeous colors. Love the pops of black. This is stunning!
By now you are off camping, Linda, so sorry I missed this last night(no blogging). It is beautiful and it is you, maybe the full lips are there because that is what you desire. this piece of artwork is fabulous. If you really don't understand shading, look at some "applying make up" video's. Applying makeup is like shading a face, maybe that will put it in terms you can understand. Art explanations can sometimes take awhile to understand. Hope you are having a wonderful day and keep up with these wonderful projects.
I think you do not see your own talent...this is fantastic.

A creative piece. Keep enjoying the experience.

This is amazing- love how you did the hair!!!
I am seeing so many cool things from people taking the Life Book class. They are really challenging you to push yourself creatively, and that's always a good thing.
Now, how much product would it take to make your hair do that?
Gorgeous art from the heart!!! xx
this turned out great!!! That is my next one to tackle! I watched the video, but have no idea what picture to use. I really love the colors you used, and the wings! FUn fun fun!
Linda this is really great, and I think it does look like you....it's bright and sunny and sweet and thats how I imagine you to be. I love the colours and especially the hair. I also loved that video, just what I needed to hear, I might borrow it for my blog too if that's ok. Thanks for sharing and I can't wait to see more of what you are doing in you "life book" classes. Absolutely love that first photo too of your brushes in the jar. xx
You are always up to something creative and fun sweet Linda! Cute cute!
Wishing you a fantastic weekend!

Very creative and wonderful! Love how you are expanding your creative horizons. :)
it is gorgeous. And way to go straying from the comfort zone! looks like the effort paid off handsomely - happy PPF!
I think you self portrait is wonderful.
Your painting looks wonderful. Thanks for the Video.. it's so true.
By the way, the word verification is very time consuming, meanwhile there are two words to write in. One of these I cannot read very cleary, so I have to try two times or more :( It would be great if you could delete this word verification - Thanks :)
Great piece! It is my kind of art

Your piece is terrific, Linda. Congratulations!
And that Ira Glass quote is really wonderful. Definitely something to keep in mind.
And I wouldn't worry about the word verif. I turned mine off a year or two ago and have only gotten one spam comment.

Lovely self portrait Linda. I think you did a very lovely job on this.I particularly like the headress, luv all of the details.
I did a self portrait a few years back incorporating a hand drawn sketch and then adding elements digitally but with no image transfer?Interesting for sure.
Very neat! I could totally see this hanging in an art gallery.
