Not going anywhere yet...

Here is a close up of my lantana.. This baby still has blooms all over it.
And it will probably keep on blooming till our first freeze.
You've got to love that in a plant.  I sometimes think lantanas are
almost like a weed.  Or should I say a pretty weed.
They are almost impossible to kill..
Or maybe I am just lucky with them, which is OK by me.

I have three different colored Lantanas in my yard right now
And it seems like the yellow ones always do better.
At least for me that is.

Here is my purple lantana..  Not doing so well.
There are no new blooms to be seen.  But still nice and green..
But I'm not giving up on her yet.  I think she will bloom again before
we get a freeze..  Lucky for us that will be a while from now.

Well enough with all this crazy plant talk.. Let me share with you what
I have been playing around with lately in my art journal.

I am pretty sure most of you have heard of this type of doodling,
Its called Zentangle..
I have seen it and have always been pretty intimidated by
this type of doodling.  I mean really where in the heck do you even start.

As you can see my lines definitely need some help.
Once again I didn't realize how bad they looked till I took
a close up shot..  But oh well. I enjoyed doing it and that is all
that really matters.  And when I am looking at it in my journal
it looks great.. I really can't see the mistakes.

So you can also learn this technique the same way I did.
Youtube..
Is there anything you can't learn on Youtube.

If you would like to see the video I watched to do this flower
you can hop over HERE.

You should give it a try.  I would love to see
how yours turns out.

Thanks for stopping by.

Hugs~

Lots of work went into all that detail. I wouldn't have the patience to make the border, much less the flower. Looks Good, Linda! :)

Hi Linda, your Zentangle looks great! You've inspired me to try it again. I already had that video saved in my favorites. Thanks for the encouragement!

Wonderful. I love square and rectangular blooms--it makes me happy. Your doodling is spectacular... and no I couldn't learn to do it even using YouTube. Have a good weekend.

i have a terrible time keeping my lantana going. the texas sun saps it - even if i water morning AND night. *sigh* :)

I love Lantana. It does well in the heat. I grew it when we lived in Alabama. You can't really find too much of it here because it is cooler and usually wet.

Love your Zentangle. I have seen it before. :)

I haven't seen that plant before in Asia. It looks interesting.

Zentangling is intimidating to me. But I seriously think you've done a fabulous job. Love the detailing. :)

Wishing you a happy weekend! :)

Wow...I didn't know you could learn to doodle like that! I always have admired the journals I see with those doodles but never thought I could do it....I will definitely give You Tube a shot...thanks...I didn't even know there was a name for it. And BTW...Lantana is a weed ;).... most folks here in Florida hate it...but I absolutely love it...for all the reasons you described here....I have different colors all over my gardens and they last forever...and come back stronger every year...I do find that the purple ones are not as hardy as the others...not sure why. Thanks for the heads up on that doodling!!

I hope you don't get any frost for awhile... it would be a shame to see those gorgeous flowers wilt away!
Have a fabulous weekend!

What an interesting shot of lantana! It's almost as if I'm really looking at lantana for the first time, it is such an interesting and fun perspective!

My lantana is growing like crazy, but no blooms! They are a hard plant to kill, though. Love your photos and the artistic flair on your drawing. The tips of the petals remind me of fleur de lis!

Mistakes, what mistakes! I don't see anything but amazingness here. LOL How do you like that word? :-) I doodle all the time so I could probably really get into doing this. Thanks for sharing it. Hugs!

Lantanas are lovely and yes quite hardy. Mine are still blooming as well. I've not heard of the purple variety but I think that would be a pretty one to have.
Great art work on your journal. Lots of detail.

Just this past weekend I noticed that my Lantana is blooming more now that it did all summer, and it is so pretty.

I always love seeing pages from your art journal, and I am off to look up Zentangle. It looks like it would be a very relaxing thing to do. Thank you for sharing!

LOVE your zentangle, Linda. Very impressive and pretty. I found the concept intimidating, too. But since I'm currently on the couch with a torn muscle, maybe this is the time to try it!

Happy weekend!

Beautiful drawing on your journal. I love your flowers. The advantage of having the warm weather allows you to keep those beautiful flowers going year round.
