Hello...

As I told you on my last post,
we have been without internet for a whole week now.
YIKES
But we are on the move once again and we have
internet once again.  At least for now.
So how does one spend the week being off the grid?

Of course enjoying the great outdoors.
We have been going hiking everyday.  Who knew this life style
would get me in better shape.  Too tell you the truth it's kicking my butt.
But I am sleeping like a baby at night.

I have also finished a couple of projects that I started months ago.
I am the worst at starting something and not finishing it.
This little crochet piece should have only taken hours.
But I stretched it out to months.

The good news is that it is finished now and sitting on my kitchen counter.

It was an easy pattern to follow and if you want a copy of it just let me know.

I used hot glue to attach it to the pot, as per the instructions.

Also I have had a problem with my photos falling off the wall when we
are traveling.  On our last trip the glass broke on one of my frames.
So I decided to put my photos on canvas.  I bought four 4x4 and two 5x7
So far I love the way they have turned out.

I painted the canvases black and then I used Gel Medium to glue the photos
down.  And then covered them with Mod Podge.

I Love the texture the Mod Podge makes on top of the photo.
I only have two finish.  Hoping to get the rest done soon.

I no longer have a hummingbird feeder.
But our Camp host does.  So I caught this little fella just hanging out.
That is my hubbies finger in the photo.  The camp host says they can
get the hummingbirds to sit on there fingers.
We had no such luck.

I am hopping to get around to seeing what everyone has been up to.
So happy to be back on line.

Hugs~

Lovin' that cute pot topper, really sweet. And I do like the way your canvas photos turned out...question? You said you covered your photos with mod-podge...did you print your photos or did you have them printed somewhere?? I am afraid that if I placed mod-podge over my at-home ink jet printer photos the ink would run.

Being off grid sounds completely divine ;). LOVE that beautiful crochet work you've done! Those beads add such an air of elegance, and what a great idea for your photos. We haven't had much luck with the hummingbirds this year. I think it's time to tie lots of red ribbons back on our feeder ;). Hugs!

Happy to have you back - I hate it when we don't have Internet.

Your knitting project is really cute. - I'm so not good at that sort of thing.

Love that you captured the little hummer and I'm surprised that your hubby was able to get close enough without it flying off.

I saw one today and was so happy to have just seen it even though I didn't have camera handy.

That hummy is the kind we have here. I wish we had the ones with different colors but I guess this particular kind is the only one that uses this area for home. Your idea for the photos is fantastic. They will definitely hold up much better. You guys stay safe out there with all the fires popping up. Hugs!

Looks like you got quite a bit accomplished this past week
(but being without internet is difficult).
How did your photos react with the ModPodge??
It seems like it would make the paper buckle or the colors run.
But your results look great!
Enjoy your travels.
