Randomness on Friday..

I have five photos to share with you.
Random shots I took throughout the week.

I have to say that my favorite lens is my macro lens.
I just love the wonderful sharpness and blur it gives me.

We were taking an afternoon walk and saw this little fella
running out in the rain.  I think he was a little bit camera shy.
Our campground host informed us that this little fella is a weasel.
And they have been eating all the squirrels in the campground.
Hummm... Maybe that's why there weren't too many squirrels around.

Lots and Lots of Bees and Butterflies.
I don't know what it is, but I could spend all day photographing them.
And I did.

You know I was a happy camper when I woke up to not 1, not 2 but 4 Moose in
our campsite.  I can't wait to see what kind of animals I will see at our next stop.
I just hope we don't see any bears.  I am scared to death of them.

See, I told you I spent all day photographing these guys.

We have left Spruces campground and we are recharging
our batteries here in Provo, UT.  On Sunday we will take off for
our next stop which will be a campground right outside of Pocatello, ID.

If you would like to read more about our adventure you can
hop on over to my husbands blog HERE.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
And thanks so much for all your kind comments.
I appreciate everyone of them.

And Thanks Nancy.
I love participating in your memes when I can.

Bees and butterflies - with photos like this it must have been a wonderful day. I've not used a true macro lens, only my Raynox clip on. Please tell me how close (or far away) you have to be for such wonderful insect shots.

You really feel like you are in the wilds when you see moose in your camp! OH MY! And I'm not sure I've ever seen a weasel up close. What a cute photo of him....amazing!!!

You saw some cool stuff, Linda! I can't believe a weasel, with a rotten rep as they do have, can be so cute! And the clarity of the butterflies antennae (?) is amazing. Did you do that with a 50 mm lens?

All your photos are beautiful. The little weasel looks so cute -- who knew they are such cannibals! And the moose, what a treat! Thank you for sharing your wonderful adventure.

I didn't know weasels ate squirrels . . . This is a super cute portrait.

You are RIGHT to be cautious about bears.

Moose visitors . . YOU are wealthy.

Thank you for sharing so much treasure with us.

Happy Travels!

The 'Macro' has always been my favorite photo setting also. Love yours that you've shared here. It's always fun with that setting to see what the camera saw that the eye sometimes doesn't. :)

What a wonder group of photo's, Linda, I am hoping you will do a set of trip books! Wouldn't it be great to be able to remember everything you see this year? Thanks for sharing your trip with us! Hugs...

I love all the macro shots, such details, great job! AND I had no idea that weasels helped out in the squirrel population...I mean that in a sad way. I just came home from almost a week of camping, and the squirrels are everywhere!

Fabulous photos! And yes, bees and butterflies are exquisite, and the bees especially do such important work! :)

The weasel is cute, but yes, a weasel. I've heard they have voracious appetites!

these are wonderful photographs, Linda.
Love that little weasel.

I wish you a wonderful weekend, my friend. xo.

Good grief that lens is amazing! Those feathery little antennas on the first butterfly are so cool. Speaking of cool, four moose is pretty awesome. Make sure you recharge the camera batteries too while your in Provo. LOL Hugs!

Hey, did that "weasel" have a decent bushy tail? Because if im not mistaken (i work in forestry) what you have there is related to the weasel, but is actually a pine marten! They are pretty feisty critters that do eat other species, even birds, so its fantastic that you got such a great photo without getting your face chewed on :)!

I am just so happy to follow your happy trail, needless to say, those photos are GORGEOUS!!!!
Oh yes, the macro lens might be my next buy!

Gorgeous shots, as always!
Weasels are adorable for such ferocious little critters. :)
Ours turn white in the winter (when in white form I believe they are called ermine).. I love to watch them run on the snow.

MOOSE in the camp site!! Wow! Our moose here, and in Canada where we go each year, are the most shy & elusive creatures. Bears can be a nuisance, but don't worry me as much. I'd actually be more nervous encountering a moose - the bulls are known up north to be some of the most moody & unpredictable animals there are. I think we have a different, larger variety, though - yours look quite up close & friendly!

I have ALWAYS wanted to go to Idaho!! Safe travels, and looking forward to your next stop. :)

Terry said...

Awesome pictures! I did not know that about weasels! Looking forward to the next travel adventure! Happy Weekend and Big Hugs!

Hi Linda! Pretty shots! That's funny, I just said that to Russell just yesterday, that my macro is still my favorite lens. :-) I think that weasel is kind of cute...didn't know they ate squirrels though! wow! Safe travels my friend.

Oh my gosh you are having the time of your life traveling around. What fun it must be to see all these amazing creatures. The Weasel does look a little shy. How cool that you saw Moose too.
Your photo's are fabulous.
I skipped R5 this week but will post tomorrow.

Oh, wow, Linda. These are all great. Love the antena (or whatever they're called) on the butterflies. Love the weasel too. So glad to be catching up on your blog.

Your camera is worth EVERY penny it cost! Your photos are so crisp and AMAZING! That weasel actually looks Cute! What's up with that???!!! Are you ever traveling to Florida?

Tricia said...

Wow, I can't believe you saw a moose! Whenever, I go for walks up at our cabin, I always want to see a moose and never have...I'm terrified that I'll come across a bear too.

Your macro shots looks amazing! I got a macro lens earlier this year and I haven't had such good luck with it. I feel like my shots always look blurry.

Such beautiful photos, Linda! You capture nature so brilliantly! Cannot believe the sharp detail you manage to capture, especially of those tiny critters. The little weasel is just adorable, too...although sad they are eating up all the squirrels.

I don't know why a weasel is such a derogatory term for a human -- they are quite sweet looking! :)
