Some Random shots about my week.

I can't seem to get in the groove of doing more than one post
a week.  And to tell you the truth, I don't know if that will change any
time in the near future.  We shall see.  Right now I'm not going to worry about it too much.

I'm just going to enjoying the days my friends.

1.  We got some crazy wind here last weekend.  I have to tell you I don't mind the
rain at all but the wind is kinda scary when your living in a home on wheels.
This RV was a rocking and a rolling all night long.  I got no sleep at all that night.
Well the wind had finally let up and then the the fog came in.  I actually love the fog.
I really love listening to the big ships fog horns blow as they are sailing by.

2.  I had the strangest dream the other night.  I dreamed that I went to the hospital
to get some coffee.  (because isn't that where everyone goes to get coffee).
While I was there, I met Meryl Streep. Yes the Actress, and she wasn't looking too good.
She told me she had emphysema from smoking for too many years.
I felt so bad for her.  But that did stop me from asking her for her autograph.
She seemed pretty happy that I asked her for it and was happy to sign my napkin.
I was pretty bummed when I look down at it and it was all smeared.  Oh Well..
I wonder why we dream what we dream?

3.  I started reading this book that my girlfriend gave me.
A perfect choice for this time in my life.  To tell you the truth I don't mind
the Hot Flashes during the day.  But its the night sweats that get me.  They wake me
up and I can't fall back to sleep.  Oh the Joys of getting old.
So far the book is entertaining and a pretty easy read.

4. Doesn't he looks so sweet and innocent.  Let me tell you he's not so innocent.
This little fella couldn't get the bird seed out of the feeder so
he decided to eat the feeder.  WOW.  He must have been pretty hungry.
So right now I have no bird feeder.  I will be shopping for a new one soon.
I'm thinking this one will be metal... not plastic.

5.  A couple of weeks ago I told you about the new Hummingbird feeder
I had gotten, I finally caught this little guy..  He is much more shy than the
Hummingbirds back in Vegas. I had the hardest time getting a shot of him.
These beauties are call Anna's Hummingbird.
These hardy creatures are the only hummingbird to winter in northern climates.
As long as there are plenty of winter flowers to support them. (Or Feeders).
You know I am going to keep on trying to capture some photos of them.
We shall see if I can get some more photos of these beauties.

Linking up with Nancy's
Random Five Friday

That's all I have for now my friends.
I do hope you all have a Happy Weekend.
And thanks so much for all the wonderful comments.
I really do appreciate everyone of them.

Till next time.

Great photos! I love Meryl Streep! I just watched Iron Lady, with Meryl Streep as Margaret Thatcher, I thought the show was wonderful and sad at the same time.

Sometimes there isn't enough time to do everything we want so some things have to go to the back burner. For the first few years of blogging I blogged almost every day. Then I went to 3 or 4 times a week. Now I get 2 posts in a week if I'm really lucky. But that's OK. We have to grab onto the things we want to do when the opportunity exists!

How funny the little squirrel ate the bird feeder - that was one hungry squirrel! haha!

Happy weekend Linda!

Linda, I'm honored that you share your one post per week on R5F -- your photos are so beautiful.

That wind has been something else! Hoping it dies down a bit over the next few days.

I've been unofficially posting nearly every day. A few years ago I was successful for about 9 months then just quit. Sometimes it's just hard to come up with something to say, especially since I've been doing this nearly 8 years.

Love your photos!

Read that book awhile back. Enjoyed!

Don't apologize for only being here once a week.I think our community would rather see us only once a week, than get burned out and not see us at all right? The book you are reading, I read last year, Nancy has a way of always bringing a smile to my face. Happy Friday my friend.

Linda,

I toy with the idea of 1 or 2 posts a week too. I hope you continue to enjoy blogging and sharing your thoghts and pictures.

It's been windy here too and yesterday was exceptionally bad. I would guess constant 50 mph winds with gusts in the 60's. I am like you, the wind makes it hard to sleep. It is much calmer this morning. :)

You got a neat picture of the not so innocent squirrel!

Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

I really enjoy stopping by your blog and seeing your gorgeous images, that top one is "be still my heart" for sure. My son and family live in Portland and so want to get back up to see them as these make me want to photograph the fog as you say you are having. I don't see that living in the desert. Loved the dream very funny.

Sylvia said...

Love your conversation, Linda, and it's okay if you are so busy enjoying life that you don't find time to post...I do that as well! Love the picture of the hummingbird. Just come out and talk to the bird every day and you will soon become good friends! No joke! We had birds that decided buzzing and bumping was okay! Hugs my friend and Happy Friday!

TexWisGirl said...

loved your photos! the flower is marvelous. the squirrel is adorably guilty. the hummingbird is gorgeous!!! just wait until the squirrels decide they want that feeder, too. they were awful to mine this past year!

Audrey Pettit said...

As always, your photos are absolutely amazing, Linda! I am constantly in awe of how you manage to catch such fabulous shots of birds and animals, since they so rarely hold still. That hummingbird photo is phenomenal. Love hearing the stories of your new life. The wind sounds scary, but I bet the fog was really cool to see!

Mona Pendleton said...

Beautiful photos Linda! Love the sweet or not so sweet squirrel! He/she looks like they are praying! Maybe for more food or a new feeder to store it in! :) LOL

Kim said...

I like your wisdom of just enjoying your days! Wise words. The squirrel looks precious even if not so much. And the hummer? I love the purple throat. I have never encountered one with that shade of purple. Gorgeous!

Lovely photos! The squirrel is so cute, and the hummer shot is gorgeous!

I don't suffer from hot flashes because I use natural progesterone cream.

I just love your photos and the "random facts" to go along with them ... wonderful.
I find it difficult to blog more than once a week, too!
I'm trying to change that for this year ... but so far I have not accomplished it! LOL
Have a great weekend.

What sweet photos you have today.

My husband and I were having a discussion yesterday about my memory loss since menopause set in. He said I have 'no memory left', kind of like a bad computer I guess.

Gail Dixon said...

Man, that is one determined squirrel! Can't believe he ate the feeder. So excited that you saw the Anna in all her glory. Awesome shot!! That book is going on my "To Read" list...I think I might be able to relate to it. lol Enjoy your weekend, sweet Linda!

Beautiful shots!!! That humming bird is so beautiful! Now let me tell you ... our squirrels even chew through the metal feeders ... No problem!
As for the hot flashes ... we call them flushes and I too used to hate them especially at night ... sometimes I still get the night ones and I'm 61! Unfortunately tea and coffee doesn't help ...
Finally when it comes to dreams ... let me tell ya' I am the queen of weird dreams ... every night! Sometimes they are so horrible too ...
Have a great week and I'd love to be rocked to sleep!

Kirsty Vittetoe said...

It is always good to read your updates here, wow, the wind, I can't imaging in that rolling rocking vehicle! I do love fog and horn though, pretty much the same reason I love the ocean and light houses!
Well my friend, maybe you should go watch August:Osage county, love Meryl streep! For now, have fun and stay safe!

Hot flashes suck big time. Night sweats suck even more. Isn't it enough that we bleed and birth and swell and retain years on end, and this is nature's reward? seriously!?! WTH

Love the dream - no clue what it means - but love it.

And that hummingbird is breath-taking. Can't wait to see more.

Deanna said...

Oh yes, I remember the hot flashes and night sweats, not fun, but it will soon be over. looks like a great book for your present state. and ofcourse your photos are always so beautiful. I will wake up knowing I have had a weird dream, but most of the time I can't remember them.

Tracy said...

Oh that hummie is amazing. It still floors me that they hang out through the cold. I tell you those squirrels are destructive little critters. They gnaw the lead flashing off of chimney caps around here. Once or more often, I always enjoy your posts. Hugs!

What a funny dream! I adore Meryl Streep so I would have been happy to dream that haha. That hummingbird is so pretty! What a great shot. And don't worry about posting so often; whatever works for you is best! :)

One post is better then none and great when it's so wonderful like this one. Such nice photos. Your hummingbird is gorgeous.
I hear you about wind, I don't like high winds either and driving in them is awful in a van so I can only image a motor home.
Good thing you had it parked.
The books sounds interesting. May need to check that one out. I rarely get hot flashes any more but sometimes still get the night sweats, not fun at all.
Loved that little critter, he must have been hungry to eat the feeder!

EG CameraGirl said...

Loved your crazy dream. I have no idea what they mean...or even if they do mean anything. But they are entertaining... especially once we wake up and realize they were only a dream.

Love your humming bird shot. Aren't dreams crazy? It's quite interesting to get into dream interpretation...

Jinny Newlin said...

Oh, Linda, these shots are absolutely stunning! WOW! And you just right on enjoying life ;). One post a week is plenty to keep us coming back for more. I'm in the same boat, my friend.

Well you got me on the "Hot Flash Club." Too funny and then their was the praying squirrel. Gorgeous shots, GF! Happy Friday! Hugs!

Terry said...

Oh I forgot to mention how my littler H-birds are also very friendly. We have a corner kitchen window and when their food is getting low, they come around to the one that is in the covered patio area to LMK! Cute they are!

Fantastic critter shots. That pesky little squirrel looks like he is praying you get a new feeder soon:) About the hot flashes...I call them POWER SURGES! Aloha

Linda, that little hummingbird is GORGEOUS!!
Hmmm, strange dream indeed.

I have been posting pretty much once a week for a while now. I like it better that way, quite simply because it gives me more time with my camera,, and less time in front of the computer!

I hope you have a wonderful weekend. Like you, the wind scares me. We're having lots of snow right now, but no wind! :-)

Rosie Grey said...

Such fantastic shots, Linda - and that hummingbird is amazing!
I'd love to come into a routine of blogging once a week, but somehow something always gets into the way of doing that.

Love that little squirrel, even if he is a devil. He's cute! And the hummingbird, my oh my, what a beauty.

Glad your RV did not tip over, Linda. :/

Hi sweetie, beautiful shots! And the story about the dream... lol, too funny what we dream sometimes. I think you're having way too much fun to be bothered about keeping a blog up. Which is a good sign :-) And I'm sure that if you start crafting a lot again, you will do more blogging too. Or may be not. As long as you're happy, that's what counts!
Big hugs xx
