Be Brave..

Hello,
I wanted to start off by saying thanks so much
for the big response from my last post.  I had so much fun
reading all your thoughts on the subject..
Sounds like most of us do think alike!
Thanks again my sweet FRIENDS..

This has been one of those weeks,
So relaxing, not a whole lot on my plate, so you
think I would have been playing in my craft room more.
That was my intentions.  But time just got away me!
Don't get me wrong. I did get a little time to play in my
Art journal.  But I just thought I would have accomplished a
lot more.  Such is life..  Just enjoying the journey!

I did this mixed media page..  So much fun!
I have to say I just love this style of Art!

Believe it or not this butterfly is a digi stamp.
I blew it up and colored it and then used modge podge
to glue it down. .

I just love this quote.. I think its just perfect for
this stage of my ART journey..

The next page is an experiment..
It just so happens I woke up around 2:00am
and could not get back to sleep.  So why not try something
new!!!

These flowers were done with wax pastels..
So fun.  I drew the outline of the flowers and leafs.
And then did a whole lot of rubbing with my finger..
I guess that was the only problem..  After awhile my finger started
to hurt!  I guess that's the price we pay for Art!!  Hee Hee!!

Thanks for stopping by.

Creating what I love..

Don't you just love blogging!
It's a place you get to show off your passion whatever it may be.
It is fun to connect with people with the same passion as you.
Build each other up! It's like having your own little team of cheerleaders
that keep you going.  I know for me I just love seeing all the inspiration
out there.  I am in awe most of the time when I am out there blog hopping.
My husband thinks it's a little crazy.  For some reason I am the only
person in the world that he knows that has a
passion to put everything on a blog.

Over at "Beyond Layers" Kim has asked a very interesting question.
She has asked why do we seek approval?
Do you sit and wait for the comments to come in?
Checking your computer or phone every 5 minutes to
see how many comments you have gotten?
Are we always trying to out do our last post?

Are you making what is in your heart or what will get
you more hits.  Are you stressed that it's not good enough?

Well I can't lie.  I do love all the attention you gals give me.
And I do get a little tough on myself when something doesn't
turn out the way I want it to.
But in return I have to say I really do enjoy giving that attention
right back. I just love seeing what you guys are
doing out there in Blogland.
And you are the most sweetest bunch of ladies out there.
I feel lost sometimes when I can't visit.

Sometimes when I am sitting on the couch with my laptop
and my husband is watching TV,  he will look over at me and ask me
why am I smiling at my computer?
And I have to say one of my friends just created something
AWESOME!

Just look at this beautiful inspiration photo
Cheryl has for us this week over at City Crafters.

These colors just sing out that spring is here.

So here is the card I made using all these
wonderful colors.

I just love this little digi from "A day for daisies".
I had colored her hat with copic markers but it was not the
right color of pink so I did a little paper piecing.

I had used distress inks for the sky and the grass
but I couldn't get them to show up to well on the photo.

Either way I just think this is so sweet.
Thanks so much to Cheryl for such a fun challenge.
To get all the details on this challenge you
can hop on over to City Crafters Challenge Blog.

I am also entering my first photo into
Kims Texture Tuesday.  The texture I used on my
photo is "February magic edges".

Thanks so much for stopping by and listening to
me rant an rave about blogging.
but I am pretty sure most of you feel the
same way as me!  You love it!

Playing with color.

The weather has been so nice this week that
I have been outside enjoying every minute I can.
Because before you know it I will be whining
about how hot it is..   The good thing about the
hot weather is that we try to escape it with lots of
camping trips..

Rainbow Saturday

So we have been playing with color all week
over at Beyond Layers.
It has been so fun seeing everyone's photos.
A different color everyday.
I had posted mine in flickr.  It just so easy to
post and see everyone's photos there.

And now I am sharing them with you!

Yellow

Red

Blue

Green

Pink

Like I said it was a lot of fun.
Today is Rainbow Saturday.  So I decided to make
a collage of all different colors.

I am going to get off this computer and go spend some
time with the hubby..  I do hope you are enjoying what every
you are up to this weekend.

Go with your heart!

Good morning my sweets..
It looks like it's going to be a beautiful day
here in the desert.  Right now the sky's are blue,
not a hint of wind in the sky.
I might just head out to the nursery and
buy some flowers to plant...

The shots are all about Black and White over
at Texture Tuesday..  I had taken this shot some time
ago I had added Two of Kims textures..
"Feburary Magic edges and Live love laugh text"
And that wonderful little quote is one of her Brushes.

*********

I am the Hostess again over at
The challenge I have come up with for this
week is called "Copy Cater"
Your have to take a copy of the Bird
from GRAPHIC FAIRIES and put it on
your creation.  The Bird image for you to copy
 is over at CCCB!

On my card I did some fussy cutting and
placed him on top of all my layers of paper.

I am sure most of you know what type of bird
this is.  I am the worst at remembering thing like that.
Even if I knew I am sure I forgot by now.
My blog friend Heather and her son are the best and
knowing what bird is what!
They have helped me out quite a few times with bird names..

Of course I tied it all up pretty with some
seam binding and an old button.

This card was a lot of fun to make.
if you want to play along you can get all the detail
at CCCB!

Thanks so much for stopping in.
I know I am a little behind on my seeing
all of you.  But I am headed outside for awhile
I will catch up with you all later..

Scavenger Hunt Sunday..

Hello!

It was one of those days.  It was
suppose to rain.  So says the weatherman.
Of course all morning it was just windy and yucky.
with no rain..  Then late this afternoon it happened.
We got Rain..  YEA!
That made my whole day!

So how was your St Patty's day.
Did you wear your green.
We had planned on going to the St Patty's day
parade but it was just a little to yucky outside.
So we stayed in out of the wind and watched movies.

So on to what I found on my hunt this week..

VINTAGE
This photo is of an old vintage scale that I saw in
an antique shop. It was way up on a top shelf.
So I had to lift my camera way over my head
to even get the shot..  About 10 times..

WORD OR QUOTE

I worked out in the yard all day on Friday.
I have to admit I did smell a little dirty afterwards.
Nothing like a long hot shower to fix that problem.

NATURES OWN
The other day we had so many butterflies all
over our neiborhood.
It was truly a wonderful site to see!

PEOPLE
I think these gentlemen were out on a beautiful
morning enjoying thier coffee..   I don't think
they spotted me getting a photo of them..
This was taken at a shopping center called
The District in Green Valley.  Such a wonderful place
to hangout..  Me and my girlfriends love to have lunch here.

PHOTOGRAPHER'S CHOICE
Of course I had to choose a photo of my sweetheart.
She has been getting some extra love lately..

Well That's all I have for this week's hunt.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
I sure do hope you are enjoying your weekend.

Paint Party Friday...

Hello my sweet friends.
How has this week been treating you.
I have had a pretty nice week.

Besides the fact that I love to
beat my self up about my painting
ability..  I started this week off by watching
a video from my Life Book class. I am
quite behind.  But that's OK..   The particular
class that I watched was on Paint over collage.
You take a image from a magazine and paint
over it.  Well lets just say mine was a bit of a
disaster..  I am going to start that little project over.

I did promise myself I would quit being so hard
on myself.  If I am enjoying the process that's
all that really matters.  And I am enjoying learning
something way out of my comfort zone.
Never in a million years did I ever think I would
be painting.

So I watched another Youtube video
and came up with this little gal..

I really have so much to learn
I have the hardest time with Noses.
I am going to keep making them and I believe
sooner or later I will get the hang of it.
You know the saying Practice makes perfect.

Hair is another be problem.
I just couldn't get it right so I
added some white puffy paint dots to
give it a little something.

I have notice that I seem to gravitate
to neutral colors when I am painting.
Also my last couple of faces I had made really
big lips..  This time I made little lips and big eyes..

So here she is in all her glory.
On this painting I used almost all Watercolor crayons.
And just a little bit of acrylics.

To see what all the other gals have painted
you can head on over to
PAINT PARTY FRIDAY!

Remember back in the day when I watched this little
cutie pie. I would post photos of Myles weekly..
Well my daughter just took some photos
of this cutie pie.  He just melts my heart.
He always has a smile to give you!
Can you believe he is 11 months old already.
They are coming down here for his birthday.
I can't wait..

Also I wanted to give a little shot out to Catherine from
Corner of Cat's Mind..  Thanks so much for my Happy mail.
So sweet of you my friend..

Thanks so much for stopping by.

I really do appreciate all your sweet comments.

Flower???

Nope not a flower my friends.
This here is a weed I found yesterday.
Camera in hand I headed out to the backyard.
No sighs of life in the backyard yet.
Then out of the corner of my eye I caught this
here weed.  What a gorgeous weed..

Over a Beyond Layers Kim wants us to play
around with black and white shots..
So I had some fun with this in photoshop..

On this photo I added one of Kims textures call Lilly
Same weed photo but different editing.  Linking to Texture Tuesday.

Here is the original with some simple changes in Picasa.
So what do you think.. Which do you like best..
I have to say I like the original the best..

I know its pretty sad when all I could find to
photo is a weed.  I think I need to get my butt
to the nursery..

I had so much fun with this weeks challenge
over at City Crafters.  Kirsty our talented and sweet
hostess this week is telling us to go with our heart..

"Things in my heart"

As you know I have been enjoy
my mixed media journal..
Never in a million year did I ever think
I would give painting a try.

So that is what I am sharing with you today.
Another page in my journal.

In this particular page I used lots of scrap papers.
and of course all types of paints.  And even
did a little stitching around my heart.

So what's in your heart?
What your passion?
What gets those creative juices flowing?

To get the details on this challenge or
just to see what the other gals have come up
with you can hop on over to
