I am having mixed emotions...

Hello my sweet friends.. I am away again visiting my parents
and in-laws who both live in Arizona..

So nothing crafty to show you..  But I am here today  feeling a bit sad
and happy all at the same time.

If you follow my blog at all, you know all about the new man
in my life. This relationship has only been going on for about 7 months.
One cute little bald guy who make me smile every time
I look at him..  He just makes my heart sing..

And God only knows how many photos you have seen of him.
And you have watched him grow right along with me.

I have been a full-time grandma and loving every single minute of it!!
This little guy will give you a smile even when he is crying..
I just love that about him!

But last Monday my Daughter let me know they are moving..
Yes, my heart skipped a beat when she told me.

Her husband has a job opportunity he can't pass up.
He has been gone for three weeks and he misses them terribly..
And I can see why.

So right before Christmas this cute little guy and my sweet
Daughter are making the move from
Las Vegas, NV to Portland, Oregon

I kinda knew this would happen eventually..  I was just hopping
I would get a little more time watching that sweet little angel..

My daughter was so upset when she had
to tell me..  But now she is just glowing with the prospects of
a new beginning..  I am so happy for them.. I wish them all the best.
Lets just say there will be lots of visits to Portland!!

Truth be known I wouldn't mind living there myself.
I think you all know how I feel about being a desert rat.
I would love to see a little green!!

So if I am a little down in the upcoming weeks you will know why!

Well, I better go do some visiting with the in-Laws before they
think something happened to me.

Thanks so much for visiting and listening to me.
You guys are the best!!

Hugs, Linda

Oh no!! And we all thought being a parent is tough when letting loose the reins...but having the little guy move away? My heart goes out to you. Here is my little suggestion for you: SKYPE!! Next best thing to being there. Got me thru the time my Thing #2 was living in Italy.

Hugs to you!

My daughter moved to Portland, OR this year! At least the flight from Las Vegas to Portland is only a couple of hours, but I know how you feel. Maybe you will be there one day soon and all will be wonderful! Have fun visiting in AZ and I am sending you a hug!

Aw Linda, I feel for you, but I KNOW you will be traveling so much you will be able to be in Portland all the time if you want to! Who knows...if you ever live in Oregon, I could be right next door in Seattle and we'll be looking back at this and saying, remember when we lived in the desert? :-)

Wow! Linda, I am in shock as I know you were. YOU have been so lucky to have them down the street, I envied you. I have never had that with my grandchildren, they are 6 1/2 hours away. I know you will miss them terribly, but I also know that from now to then you will get the best of quality time and then you will be getting used to the idea at the same time. During this time we will keep you company and hope the wheels on your trailer are in good working condition! Have a good day.

Aw Linda, my heart goes out to you. What a sweet little guy, and your daughter is so pretty. I know your feelings all too well as my only grandson (now 3) lives in the northwest and we in Kansas. Yes, make lots of trip to Portland. I would love to see it myself, in fact my husband and I are possibly taking our next trip there to the green artist land.

A big hug for you! Keep smiling. Enjoy your time with your in-laws.

Linda, your little man is so gorgeous and I know how you must be grieving inside that he won't be so accessible. But maybe you and your daughter could get Skype or at least send each other weekly photos via email (surely not the same as touching, but it is something). Eager to see more PPF entries. Have fun with your parents. Faye

Awww, I know you will be incredibly sad to part with your little man and your daughter. He is precious, btw. When my daughter announced she was moving to Portland last year, my heart broke. It is just too far from Texas. I told her she might as well be moving to Egypt. But I've visited twice so far and it truly is a BEAUTIFUL place, bursting with nature, the tallest trees I've ever seen, and very nice people (though some are a little strange). I'm happy for your daughter and sad for you. Hope it all goes well and you get to visit often. You'll probably be Skyping more...that's what we do. :)

Oh dear friend, I do know exactly how you are feeling!! It was 7 years ago that my daughter told me that she would be leaving the week before Christmas, moving to Alaska! Although I knew it was a possibility and I was happy for her my heart was broken knowing they were moving so far away! It is hard for sure. Big hugs to you!!

it`s so hard when they leave, but knowing they are happy is a blessing..
Lots of love to you and yours :) xxx

Oh my heart is just breaking for you! I know this is going to be so tough on you. as I was reading I knew that one of the things I was going to say was that I KNEW there were going to be a lot more "trips" coming up. LOL Then you wrote just that. I know you will find a way to see lots and lots of this little guy even though he's moving just a little out of your neighborhood. :-) Best wishes to your daughter and her hubby on their new adventure!

Hi Linda! So sorry to hear that your daughter's family will be moving away. :( But now you'll have even more reasons to hit the road, right? Oregon, here you come!!! Hang in there, OK?

Justine said...

oh that must be so hard for you, what a huge decision, are they going to be far away from you? my geography of America is very bad. It is going to be so tough, hang on in there, thinking of you.

I know how hard it would be for me to see my daughter and grandchild move away. Hang in there.

My in-laws cried when we moved 400 miles away 7 1/2 years ago. But they manage the drive nearly every month since we left :)

I have a cousin that moved to Portland; I would love to visit one day. Perhaps the opportunity will present itself and we could coordinate our Portland visit and meet in person!

Bald is beautiful! My dh was pretty bald when I met him (we were only 19!) He started losing his hair at 16. It used to bother him, but now it looks like he hasn't aged in more than a decade. I remind him that God created a few perfect heads and the rest he put hair on :)

That Myles is just adorable! And I do understand how difficult this will be. My daughter and her husband move to another state and it was hard. I keep thinking about how it will be doubly hard when they have a baby! More traveling is certainly required...

Oh, Linda!! Tears are in my eyes for you! I am so happy for your daughter and her husband to get such a great opportunity, but I KNOW how tough this is. I live all the way across the country from my family, so I do know. Sending you giant((hugs))

Oh, Linda.
Really? My heart stopped for you when I read this. I just can't imagine...and, as a good mom, you are happy for your kids at new opportunities. But then you go home and bawl your eyes out.
Time for a frequent flier charge card...
hugs to you.

Oh Linda, my heart is breaking for you! It's a bittersweet situation. I really wish your daughter and her family the best with the move and new home. I also want to say that you can never share too many photos of your grandson because he's the cutest little fella and always brings a smile to my face! Do you have Skype? Not the real deal but it may be a good source to try? Enjoy every minute you have and hope the trip at your parent's is relaxing with some fun mixed! :-) Amy

Hi Linda,

I can so understand your mixed emotions. It's hard to face changes that aren't your idea. I hope it all goes well for them. And another positive is that you'll be coming to the Pacific Northwest a lot! Perhaps we'll meet one day.

so sad to hear they are moving so far away from you. You have enjoyed spending so much time with them. Lovely photographs of them!

So sorry Linda. I know you must be heartbroken. I totally understand how both of you feel. My son was about a year old when my parents moved to AL from IA. I really missed having them close to just stop by for dinner or have my mom to talk to about anything whenever I wanted. Maybe you should move to Oregon. It is a beautiful place. I considered moving there myself. :)

Hugs~
