Flower Power

It's always fun to take a trip to the nursery this time
of year to see all the beautiful flowers.

This year I won't be buying flowers.
Just taking photos of flowers.

Linking up with Tuesday Muse and Texture Tuesday..

I used two different textures on my photo.
Asian influence from Nancy and Oh my from Kim.
I am pretty sure they were both at 100%.

It's all about Washi Tape over at
City Crafters challenge blog.

So many different styles to play with... fun fun..

Kirsty is our host and has asked us to create a tag
and dress it up with a little bit of Washi tape.

You know how much I love making tags.
This is another flat tag that will be used as bookmark.

To get all the details on this challenge hop on over to CCCB!

Another flower to brighten up your day.

I am really happy you stopped by..

A Happy Hello to you

It's that time of the week once again
when I show you what I created for
City Crafters Challenge Blog.

But before I get started I have a photo of a happy
flower to show you. I took this photo last summer.

I had some fun playing around with this
simple little flower. What do you think?

This one is the original..  Just a little cropping and that's it..

This flower I played around with it in picasa..
I did a little sharpening, played
with the light and added
 a vignette to frame
 it out..

With this flower I used Photoshop elements.  I used the pug-in
Totally rad..  Such a fun program to work with.  I just love it.
Lots of cool different effects.   I have been playing around with
Adobes Lightroom lately.  Also a lot of fun to play with.

I could waste away a whole afternoon just playing
with photos..  It's amazing what you can do with them.

So on with this weeks challenge.
The sweet and talented Kirsty is our hostess this
week and the theme is.

WINGS OF AN ANGEL.

Is this the sweetest inspirational photo or what!

I created another bookmark or tag..
I call it a bookmark instead of tag because its completely flat.

For this challenge all you needed to do is
use wings on your project..

As you can see I used a butterfly.
I also used that map once again as the background,
along with some rub-ons and lots of
mod podge..

To play along with us this week
you can get all the details at

I am so glad you stopped by.
I hope you enjoyed taking a peek at what I created..

I am off to get some housework done. YUCK!

Or maybe I should just head up to my
craftroom and play a bit first..

Decisions... Decisions...

Happy Friday...

Don't you just love the weekend?
Even though I don't work anymore I still get
excited about the weekend.   It just has a different
feel than a weekday.

The two photo's above are the same, As you can tell.
The second one I played with in Photoshop using this weeks
lesson from Beyond Layers.  It was fun to play with but
to tell the truth I like the original much better.   I will
have to try this same technique on a different photo.

I also got some time this week to play in my craft-room.

I have a lot going on this month with 2 Mothers day card,
my sisters Birthday card, a baby shower card.  Lets just say I
have been having fun creating this week.

These are some close up shots of some book marks I have
made for my Mom and Sister..
Her lips got smeared when I applied the decoupage.

I know you were thinking she is just really bad at putting on
lip stick.  Hee Hee..

I bought them both books for a gift and I just love
to add these little homemade book marks to go along with the books.

By the time I am done these book marks are really-really flat.
And there are some many layers of decoupage that they almost feel
like leather.  The third one in is a real photo of my Mom and her sister
when they were young. I know she is going to love it.

So speaking of books. I was just wonderful if any
of you have read the book "Fifty Shades of Grey"
I was going to get if for my sister but they were sold out.
I heard it was pretty steamy!

Well I do hope you enjoy your weekend.
And thanks so much for stopping in and visiting.
I really do appreciate all your encouraging words.

Hugs, Linda

Orange....

Hello my friends.
I am back to share with you a tag I made.
It is the last week of challenges over at
Summer of colors.
And this weeks color is Orange.
This color was a little tough for me to work with.
It always reminds me of Halloween.

I also wanted to share with you this flower.
I took this shot while we where camping in Utah.
I just thought it was so pretty..

Well here it is..  My tag.  I had a lot of fun making this.
I cut my hearts out of of scrapbook papers..
And decoupage them on to my tag.

Then I just used some watercolors and acrylic paints.
Some stamps and rub-ons..

I did a little doodling.

And tied the top off with some eyelash yarn..
So I showed my hubby and I guess he doesn't appreciate fine
Art.. Hee Hee..  He didn't like my tag at all..
I really don't think he knows what he's talking about..

To see all the other entries you can head on over to
Kristin's blog and see all the other wonderful Orange entries.

So Ladies I have to tell you I am out of town again for a whole week.
Camping out at the ocean..  And boy am I going to miss Myles.
But I just love hanging out here,  Can you here the ocean waves..
They are crashing in right now as I am typing.

I will try to get by and see everyone..
soon!!

Thanks so much for stopping by..

Till next time my friends..

My Garden Angel..

Hello sweet friends.
I have a little tag to share with you today.
It has been awhile since I have made a Tag..
I know it's a sad story.  You know how I love my Tags.

Over at Rebecca's blog the challenge is to make a tag with
soft pinks and soft greens. Sounds Yummy doesn't it..

So here she is my garden angel tag.
I just love this image..  I pick up a little book a hobby lobby with
some images and she was one of my favorite in the book.
Can you see why?

I used a glitter gel pen to make give her that sparkle.
I had fun making the Pink background even though you really can't see it.
I used water color pencil and then I stamped it with my script stamp..

Of course a garden angel has to have a flower put on the tag..

The Lace at the bottom I picked up at an antique shop
while I was in California..  I just love to go antiquing there..

So if you want to see all the other Tags you can hop on over to
Rebecca's Blog  HERE

Thanks Rebecca for the fun Challenge.

I am also link this up to a new Challenge Blog called
The Craft Room
The challenge this week is Anything goes..

Thats all I have for today!!
Thanks so much for stopping by..

Just a couple of projects to show you....

So how is everyone doing?
My week is going well..  Tomorrow is my last day of work,
then I get two weeks off from work.
Yea.... Spring Break..
I work for a City program so we get two weeks instead of one..
Double Yea!!!

I am Back today with two different projects..  The first one is for

And the second on is for a new challenge I am playing along with called

So here is my TAG..
This week Rebecca wants us to use a chair on our Tag..
I was starting to think I wouldn't get to play this week.. I could not find a chair.
I can't believe I forgot that I had this stamp.  And I love this stamp..
The funny thing is that it sits on a shelf in plain site.

It seems like I had a hard time with the design of this tag..
I could not come up with anything..  So it took me way longer than it should have..
I hate that..

Lots of stitching and a little tag to top it off.

So there is my tag for this week.

To check out all the other Tags you can hop over to Rebecca Blog HERE.
Thanks so much for The very challenging challenge this week Rebecca..

So here is the card I made..  One of my Co-workers asked me if I could make her
a mothers day card..  But she asked me not to make it with to many embellishment so
she could mail it easier.  I am entering this card in a challenge called

and the word this week is
LACE

That was pretty hard for me to do..  So here is my simple card.. No bows or buttons..
Just a little LACE and some stitching..

I just love this sweet image..

I am hoping she likes it..

So I also have some wonderful news.. My Daughter will be induced on
Saturday..  Yep... That means I will be a Grandma on Saturday..
Maybe Sunday if she has a long labor..
So if you don't see me around blogland that is why..

Take care all my sweet friend.
And Thanks so much for all your Kind comments.
I do appreciated them all so much..

Hugs, Linda

Tag Tuesday...

Hello my sweet friends..  How is everyone doing?
I hope the answer is "Great"!!

I am finally back doing a tag.. Yea..
The Talented Rebecca has taken over Tag Tuesday..
And I just wanted to say Thanks for taking over.  It has been one of my
favorite challenges..  And I am looking forward to playing along here with you!!

So this week Rebecca is Challenging us to use a cut up post card..

So here is what I came up with..  I have to admit.. I didn't use my postcard.. So sorry..
I just love this post card.  I got it on one of my trips to Solvang, California..
So I took a photo copy of it and Cut that up..

I really couldn't decide if I should put this flower on..
I really liked it both ways..  I think without the flower it gave it a more vintage look..
With the flower it gave it more color..
Decisions, Decisions..   Well you can see what I did..

A Tim Holtz stamp..  Some seam binding and eyelash yarn..
To top it off..   No stitching again.. What in the heck is going on!!

And there you have it..  Another Tag..
I love the way this turned out...

Thanks again Rebecca for the great challenge..   I am looking forward to playing some more..
To see the other entries you can pop over HERE..

Not that I am excited or anything..  But only a week away till my
daughter is due..  Can you see me jumping up and down..

Thanks so much for stopping by..
