Hello lovely Friends

It's been a busy couple of weeks for us.
We have been busy making our way up the state of California.
Man this is one long state and we aren't even half way up the state.

But with relaxing views like this, we have been enjoying it every step of the way.

We are parked in Lompoc, CA right now and sad to say there is no ocean view.

So we jump in our truck and find the closest beach to Lompoc,
which is Jalama Beach.

This beach did not disappoint.

I can't think of a better way to spend the day than
walking the beach collecting shells and trying to get photo's of Birds.

Look at this guy.  It took me awhile to grab a shot of him.
I tried to look up what kind of bird this fella is and I came up with a Whimbrel.
He sure is fun to watch as he buries that beak into the sand looking for food.

Then at the end of the day stopping at the beach cafe and grabbing a burger.
Life is simply sweet my friends.

This week over at Song-ography the song is
Led Zeppelin's song,
"STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN"
A bit of a stretch but I have to say this was pretty heavenly.
Now only if they had a stairway here.

I Can see clearly now.

I had a whole different post in mind for this week, But had to switch it up at the last minute.
After all the fog we had last week, I thought it would be the
perfect topic for this week's challenge over at

The song title this week is
"I can see clearly now"

We have had no rain since the first week we were here in Imperial Beach.
But we did get some pretty heavy fog.  Lots of it.

 Taken with my iphone

It was so crazy how fast this fog came in.  When we first started
off on our walk down to the beach it was perfectly clear.  But blocks before we got
to the ocean you could see the fog rolling in.  And by the time we made it down there
it was so thick we could barely see 20 feet in front of us.

Taken with my iphone

I know what you are thinking.  So what's a little bit of fog.
Me being from Las Vegas we didn't get to see fog very often.
So it is a kinda cool for me to see it.  As long as I don't have to drive in it.

The last couple of days we have had no more fog.

So as the song goes,
"I can see clearly now the FOG is gone."
or something like that.  LOL..

This lady on the bike was collecting seashells.
I was a little bit nervous about taking her photo because she kept looking up at me,
But I could have always said I was snapping a photo of the pier.  Right...

And Over at

OUR BEAUTIFUL WORLD

It's all about Color.
I'm sharing some photos of when we were in Austin, Texas.
Once again I do believe it is perfect for the Prompt.

This is called the Baylor Street Art Wall.
But there is way more than just a wall. Graffiti is everywhere or Art or both. lol

It was an old building that had never finished being built.
And the Art begins.

Some of it is really good.

I had to climb up to get to this sign.

BE HAPPY!

It was a bit scary getting up to it. But I was up for the challenge.
We heard on the news that they were closing this down due to the traffic.
It is right in the middle of a neighborhood and has become a real headache
for the people living in that neighborhood.
I totally get that..

Well that's all for now my friends.

Here is the Links to the Meme's I'm playing along with.

"Keep on Walking"

That's the Song for this week's meme
over at Song-ography.

We have been doing lots on lots of walking!
When we are not hiking around the park here, we are out exploring nearby cities.

We took a little ride over to Ft. Collins, CO.
And here are just a few photos of this quaint little city.

Lots of cute little cafes with outside seating.

No, we weren't riding.  We were walking but there were plenty
of folks here who do enjoy riding.

They had painted up pianos located here and there around the city.
It would have been cool to see someone playing.

And of course a stop at the local saloon for a cold one.
The food wasn't half bad either.

Ok this shot really isn't from Ft Collins.
Its from Santa Fe, NM..   I'm throwing it in because the word is texture over at
 OUR BEAUTIFUL WORLD
You have to admit there's a little bit of texture here.

And here are some beauties I added a texture to in photoshop.
The humming birds love these flowers.

I do hope you enjoyed this little tour of Ft Collins.
A fun place to stop if you are ever in Colorado.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
I really do appreciate all your kind comments.

Hello Friends.

As I am typing this we are in Moab, UT.
But Moab wasn't our first stop.  Our first stop was Zion National Park.
We have been to Zion many times.  It is a beautiful Park with lots of wonderful Hiking.
On this particular trip it was a bit cold and windy.  But in the late afternoon the
wind would stop and we were able to get in some short walks.

I do have Five photos to share with you today.
All for Random Five Friday.
Even though they aren't too random.  Most of them are flowers seen this week.

My Hubby put this photo on his blog but I wanted to share it with you here
on my blog.  Here's Big Bertha in the site we had in Zion.
What a view!!!

I brought my camera along on a walk through the little town
of Springdale. I was able to get a shot of this fence.
Perfect for Theresa's meme Good Fences.

I just love this time of the year, Blooms everywhere.
Even here in Zion.

I had some fun playing with this shot in Photoshop.
I might have had too much fun.  I think I over did it.

I even found some Tulips standing up and looking pretty.
I'm really surprised this shot even took.  It was so windy out.
Not good for taking shots of flowers.

I have no idea what these beauties are but they were
calling out to me "Take My Picture... Take My Picture....

GREEN

That is the word for this week over at
over at Song-ography the song is
"It's not easy being Green"

So I am thinking some green photos are in order here.
I haven't gotten a whole lot of Green shots lately and that
is surprising since it's my favorite color.  So I am going to show you some
of my Favorite Green Shots from the past.

I am pretty sure that living in the Brown desert all my life is the reason why
Green is one of my Favorite colors.

I did happen to get a shot of this little guy at the pet store..  I snapped off the shot and
then was told to put the camera down..  No photos allowed..
I was told to delete the photo.  I told them I would.
Oh no.. I Lied..  Here it is, I hope they don't catch me.

Happy St Patrick's day my friend.

I see some corned beef and cabbage in my future.

Wishing You all the best

in the New Year

So have you made a New Years Resolution?
or have you picked a word to focus on in the up-coming year?

I'm not one to make resolutions, and if I had to pick one word to focus
on I would pick the same word every year.

"Happy"

So I do hope the new year brings you
much Happiness

texture I added is Kims Sunkised at 100%

And that all your Dreams come true..

Happy 2014.

It's A Good Day

You know it's a good day when you are out on a hike
with that one person; the one you where meant to be with by your
side and you hike up to a scene like this.

That's when we look at each other and smile.
How can you not smile when you find beauty like this.

A scene like this makes you want to sit back and take it all in.
That's one good reasons for hiking at this time of the year.
You have most trails all to yourself.

So in the business of the season - remember to slow down,
breathe and take a moment to enjoy the beauty all around you.

Such beauty can be found in the littlest things.
And when you find that beauty it makes for a
Good Day!

Hello my Friends

As you can see I have a new look here on my blog.
I thought is was time for a change.  I have been wanting to make a change
here for a while.  Finally got off my rump and got-r-done.

I'm not sure I am totally in LOVE with this new look
so you might see it change once again.

Speaking about Love..

I was invited to be a guest over at
Our Beautiful World
As a guest I was asked to choose the Prompt for this week's challenge
and I chose the word LOVE.  When Kirsty asked me to be a guest the
first word that popped into my head was LOVE. I am pretty sure that
is because I am loving life right now.  I was also asked to share one of my favorite
camera tips..  So if you want to hear what that is you can skip on over and check it out HERE.

Thanks so much to Our Beautiful World for inviting me to be their host this week.

******

I am also playing along with Kathy's

The song this week is
"The Best Day of my Life"
by American Authors

Man you can really over-think this title.
I have had a whole lot of best days, but any day spent
with family ranks right up there.

We had a great time out at the Pumpkin Patch. OK maybe it wasn't the
BEST DAY OF MY LIFE
But it will be a day I truly enjoyed and will remember for a long time to come.

I have never seen so many pumpkins in one place in all my life.

So many shapes and sizes how does one choose.
It was a little overwhelming.

For me I tend to go for the little pumpkins.
I live in a small space so a small pumpkin fits in nicely.

So that's all I have for this Best Day Loving blog post.
I hope you enjoyed seeing my Orange post my friends.

Till next time

Hugs~
